At D M Flooring we provide a number of services ranging from complete subfloor repair and latex work to the replacing of a board or repairing a scratch. We can supply and fit engineered wood flooring, solid wood flooring and laminate. We have a variety of Wooden finishes available for both supply and fit, or if you would prefer to supply yourself we are available for fitting. Our fitting and restoring services include fitting and finishing of all types of species including Oak, Parquet, Walnut, Teak, Ash, Pine and many more.
Oak is one of the most popular choices as it is available in a wide variety of colours ranging from natural to dark ebony with each tone and colour enhancing the character and beauty of the wood in their own unique ways.
Some of the most popular finishes in period or listed buildings is a hand scrapped finish usually stained with one of the darker colours giving the wood a sense of warmth and age so to the untrained eye you could have a brand new floor looking as old as the property. Also a popular finish is a lime wash finish for more of a contemporary feel.
Solid wood is still a very popular product but as the technology behind the wood advances engineered wood is becoming more and more popular by the day as it is a structural board that supports its own movement which in turn requires less expense on the fitting costs as we can use what is called a floating system. The advantage of engineered flooring is it can be fitted over almost any surface and is more than capable to handle varying changes in temperature when it comes to underfloor heating. Each board is individual and each board can be replaced if it was to becoming damaged.
Solid wood is also very strong but it requires a little more knowledge behind the fitting side. Each plank is unique and holds all of its own character but in amongst various shades of lights and darks surrounding it, they blend into one natural beautiful surface.
Sanding and varnishing or hard wax oiling is also a very popular surface as we are able to make a 100year old floor that has been hidden by a carpet all these years look like it should do, beautiful. With all of our machines 95% dust free there is now no more massive clean up after the work, and with our quick dry lacquer available we can go that extra mile to make your life easier not having to wait 5 days to walk on the floor. In most circumstances the floor is suitable to be walked on within 4 hours.
As a fixing and finishing service is available we can fit an unfinished product and mix and match colours to find a finish that suits your style perfectly as no 2 floors are the same.
All our team members are fully trained and experienced in the floor fitting and finishing trade and our job is not finished until you are completely satisfied.
We pride ourselves on a job well done, as our quality and reliability is something you can stand on.
We are fully insured, vetted and monitored.
